Sewing Class Offerings
Child/Youth Classes (Ages 8-12)
Designed especially for young makers, these fun and engaging classes introduce kids to the basics of sewing in a safe, supportive environment. Students will learn how to use a sewing machine, follow simple patterns, and complete age-appropriate projects they’ll be proud of. All materials, fabric, and in-studio machines are included—just bring curiosity and creativity!
Youth/Adult Classes (Ages 13+)
Perfect for teens and adults who want to learn together, these classes create a relaxed, collaborative space for shared creativity. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or building confidence, participants will learn foundational skills while working on thoughtfully chosen projects. Great for parents and teens, siblings, or anyone looking to sew side-by-side and learn together. All materials and tools are provided.
Adult Classes (Ages 18+)
Our adult classes are designed for beginners and confident sewists alike who want to learn, refine skills, or explore new techniques. From practical projects to creative garments and accessories, classes are taught in a friendly, encouraging environment with small group instruction. All fabrics, notions, tools, and use of in-studio sewing machines are included—just show up and sew!
Block of the Month (Ages 18+)
Our Block of the Month programs are perfect for quilters who enjoy learning in manageable, creative steps. Each month focuses on a new block or technique, allowing participants to build skills and confidence while working toward a complete quilt. Classes include guided instruction, demonstrations, and detailed notes, making it ideal for confident beginners and experienced quilters alike. A wonderful way to stay inspired, connected, and sewing all year long.

About Us
Welcome to Muskoka Sewing Centre! There once was a time when every household had a sewing machine, but with mass production and convenience, the art of sewing is diminishing. Our mission is to revive this cherished craft by fostering a community where creativity thrives and skills are refined. We offer sewing classes for all, inviting children aged 8 and up, as well as youth and adults, all aimed at inspiring and empowering participants. Join us in honoring the timeless art of sewing and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share your passion!
Hi Muskoka! We’re Dave and Linh, and in 2021 we followed our hearts and made the big move from the GTA to Muskoka—trading city life for fresh air, forests, and more time outdoors with our young kids and beloved pups. When we’re not in the shop, you’ll often find us immersed in nature: spending summers backcountry canoe camping in Algonquin Provincial Park, or, when we’re feeling extra adventurous, making the epic 18-hour drive to our most cherished camping destination, Quetico Provincial Park, near Thunder Bay.
Back in the GTA, we continue to own and operate Sewlutions, our Brampton-based sewing shop offering sewing machine service and repairs, retail sewing machines, and a thoughtfully curated selection of notions for makers of all skill levels.
In March 2025, we were thrilled to bring our passion for sewing, education, and community closer to home with the opening of Muskoka Sewing Centre. Today, our days are happily divided between supporting our Brampton location and growing our Muskoka Sewing studio—creating a welcoming space for learning, creativity, and connection in the heart of cottage country.
